Among Fey, there are two main types. First, the fun-loving pranksters that most are familiar with, but there is another.. The lesser known shadow fey operate from a realm adjacent to the fey realm. The Realm of Shadow. The shadow fey rule over the realm of shadow with a strict hierarchy, much like normal fey. This Hierarchy is made up of the "Fey Courts" each with a strict adherence to authority and equally strict punishment for falling out of line or simply to adhere to customs. One of which includes the art of duels, whatever the reason may be for its commencement, losing one may result in one being exiled, enslaved, or killed outright. You are one such exile. Whether you lost a duel, violated a societal expectation, or simply fell out of favor with your Fey nobility, you have found yourself shunted from your home to the harsh and unknown of the Material Plane.
Each of these courts represents a branch of nobility in their realm. With a high ranking and most likely very powerful Shadow Fey at the top
