You’re from a place with exceedingly frigid conditions. This has led you to become adept at survival in harsh environments.
This could be for any number of reasons, that you may decide to better flesh out your character.
Examples:
Maybe your character is from a tribe that hails from said environment.
Maybe your character was exiled to a frozen wasteland.
Maybe your character was on a journey and got lost in said conditions.
Whatever the reason, your character gains the following:
- Skill Proficiencies: Athletics, Survival
- Languages: You learn one language of your choice.
- Equipment: A staff, a hunting trap, a trophy from an animal you killed, a set of traveler's clothes, and a pouch containing 10gp.
You have immunity to cold damage.
You’ve adapted to the harshest conditions, granting you the following benefit.
- When you hit a creature with a melee attack, the target takes an extra 2d6 cold damage, and it must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or become frozen- (the target gains the restrained condition for 1 minute). While restrained, the target takes 2d6 cold damage at the start of each of its turns. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, breaking free of the ice on a success. (Save DC equals 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier.)
Once you use this feature you can't do so again until you finish a short or long rest.
Spell List
You learn the Armor of Agathys spell. You can cast this spell without expending a spell slot, and you must finish a long rest before you can cast it in this way again. You can also cast this spell using any spell slots you have.
