Forged for War

Intended only for the Warforged Race

You were built to fight in a war. You studied the use of weapons and armor, learned basic survival techniques, including how to stay alive on the battlefield and how best to kill an enemy. Because of your slave status in the military you were not allowed to gain rank past corporal. Your incredible actions in war have earned you your freedom from the slave military you fought in. Most of your fellow warforged died in the war. Only a handful of you were left alive, but you and your kind were the reason the war was won. When interacting with creatures who have a military background they will admire or disdain you, but always respect you and what you are capable of. 

When you choose this background, work with your DM to determine in which nation you were a slave solider, what the enemy army was and what kind of experiences you had during your military career. 

Skill Proficiencies: Athletics, Intimidation

When you choose this background choose a specific enemy type (like Drow, or hobgoblin, or Frost Giant). This is the enemy that you were forged to fight in a war against. You have been specialized to face these specific creatures. You can speak the native language of this creature, if any. You can roll with advantage when making ability checks that deal with individuals, structures, writings or anything else involving the culture of this creature type.

Tool Proficiencies: vehicles (land)

Languages: You know the native language of the enemy that you were built to fight. Choose a language from the list below. 

Equipment: An insignia of rank, a trophy taken from a fallen enemy (a dagger, broken blade, or piece of a banner), and a pouch containing 10 gp.
