Political Dissident

You publicly—or secretly—opposed a ruler, regime, occupying power, corrupt institution, or dominant political order. Perhaps you were a journalist exposing abuses, a student organizer, an underground pamphleteer, an exiled intellectual, a whistleblower, or simply someone who refused to remain silent.

You learned that challenging authority rarely resembles heroic speeches in a tavern. It involves cultivating trusted contacts, recognizing surveillance, protecting sources, communicating discreetly, and deciding whom you can trust. You may have fled your homeland, served time as a political prisoner, operated underground, or watched friends choose between resistance, accommodation, and exile.

Adventuring gives you an opportunity to survive and await a day to make meaningful political change.
