Feature: Vampiric Nature

Vampiric Nature. Your transformation into a vampire spawn has granted you supernatural abilities, but it has also left you vulnerable to the weaknesses of the undead. You have Darkvision out to 60 feet and don't need to breathe. You have a climbing speed equal to your walking speed and can climb difficult surfaces, including ceilings, without needing to make an ability check. You have Advantage on saving throws against being Charmed or Frightened.

Blood Hunger. You must drink blood at least once every 24 hours. If you go 24 hours without drinking blood, you gain 1 level of Exhaustion. Each additional 24 hours without blood gives you another level of Exhaustion. After drinking enough blood to satisfy your hunger, you can remove 1 level of Exhaustion.

Vampiric Bite. Your fangs are a natural weapon that deal 1d6 Piercing damage plus your Strength modifier. When you hit, you can deal an additional 1d4 Necrotic damage and regain Hit Points equal to the Necrotic damage dealt. You can use this healing effect a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus per Long Rest.

Sunlight. While in direct sunlight, you take 1d6 Radiant damage at the start of each of your turns and have Disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks.

Vampiric Weaknesses. You have Vulnerability to Radiant damage and cannot willingly enter a private residence unless invited by an occupant.

Blood Frenzy. When a creature within 30 feet of you is below half its Hit Point maximum, you must succeed on a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw or have Disadvantage on attacks against creatures other than that wounded creature until the end of your next turn.

Vampiric Awareness.

  • Initiative Proficiency: You add your Proficiency Bonus to any Initiative roll you make.
  • Initiative Swap: Right after rolling Initiative, you can trade your exact roll result with a willing ally in the same fight, provided neither of you has the Incapacitated condition.

Spell List

Vampiric Magic. Your transformation has granted you a limited connection to the supernatural forces that sustain the undead. These powers manifest as dark, blood-fueled magic that reflects your vampiric nature.

Spell Level Spells

Vampiric Spellcasting. The magic available to you comes from the supernatural essence of your vampiric curse. Your spells often manifest as dark, crimson energy, unnatural shadows, or the draining of life from your enemies. This magic is instinctive rather than learned, and its power grows as you become more accustomed to your undead nature.

Suggested Characteristics

Suggested Characteristics. Your transformation into a vampire spawn has changed your personality and behavior. You may struggle with your hunger for blood, fear of sunlight, memories of your former life, or the instincts of your undead nature. Use these characteristics to help shape how your vampiric curse affects your personality, relationships, and choices.

Contacts

Contacts. Your existence as a vampire spawn has brought you into contact with creatures of the night, secretive hunters, and others who understand or fear your curse. Your contacts may include vampires, other undead, cultists, criminals, informants, or people from your former life. These relationships can provide information, shelter, blood, or dangerous opportunities—but they may also come with a price.

Variant Vampire Spawn: Vanpire Spawn

Vampire Spawn. You are a newly created vampire spawn, caught between mortality and undeath. Your body has gained the supernatural gifts of a vampire, including heightened senses, unnatural agility, and a thirst for blood. However, you remain vulnerable to sunlight and other vampiric weaknesses. Your hunger must be regularly satisfied, or the curse will begin to weaken your body and mind.

Variant Feature: Blood Hunger

Blood Hunger. Your body requires blood to sustain its supernatural strength. You must drink blood at least once every 24 hours. If you go 24 hours without drinking blood, you gain 1 level of Exhaustion. For every additional 24 hours you go without blood, you gain another level of Exhaustion. After drinking enough blood to satisfy your hunger, you can remove 1 level of Exhaustion. The blood can come from any willing or unwilling creature, though your DM may determine how much blood is required to satisfy your hunger.
