You've trained all your career be the most efficient spy and mercenary there is. Starting from a young age you've trained in the ways of the ninja, the ways of stealth and misdirection. Every shinobi is deadly in their own right and the true lethality of every shinobi is that everyone's fighting style is unique and different and you've honed your skills and proficiencies to their absolute max. Whether you're a fresh out of the training gates, or an experienced shinobi, you know the ways of stealth and misdirection as any shinobi does and is a lethal weapon when given the right task.
- Skill Proficiencies: Stealth, Acrobatics
- Tool Proficiencies: One type of artisan's tools, poisoner's kit.
- Equipment: A shinobi uniform (including a black jumpsuit, green vest, and a metal headband with your village's symbol on it), a case with 5 sheets of parchment, a bottle of ink and a pen, a souvenir from a lost friend (a dagger, their headband, or a picture of them with you), and a pouch containing 8 gp.
Should you ever be going it alone, you know where to find a good helping hand if you need one. You know a few other shinobi from the time you trained together in the academy, and can pull together a group to go on a tough mission or lend a hand on an already tough mission that needs a few more hands, should they be available they'll come to your aid.
Suggested Characteristics
True shinobi are loyal to their teammates and make the strongest friends out there through trying times and tough battles. Losses of battles or friends only makes those friendships stronger and through competing with each other you and your friends only become stronger. A rogue shinobi mostly only trusts themselves. They might be loyal as well but to something or someone else, an ideology, belief, or group of other rogue shinobi who share a common goal. Shinobi are often the toughest mentally out of any group, seeing hardship and loss throughout their life, but that also makes them the strongest friend when they open up to you.
Not all Shinobi follow the strict code of conduct laid out to them by their leader, should any shinobi leave their village and survive, they will be hunted down and have a bounty on their head. You can start out as a normal shinobi then defect and become rogue in your characters story, but when you go rogue you carve a horizontal line through the insignia on your headband signifying your past and the new life you have.
You've been places others haven't, and know a little more than you should about the bad places in this world. You know places like the nearest bounty collection centre and the best inns to meet with others of your kind.
