You grew up as the youngest of a wealthy house, you knew you would be forgotten, another number to be shipped off to boarding school, and you were content to live that life of luxury and easiness. You didn't know a thing about the world, about money, about life. And you didn't care to. You were raised to think they were dirty, uninteresting things that ruined a man's manicure and clothes. You lived your entire life as the person no one would expect to go on adventures.  But as you began your education, you read, not just literature, but epics and histories. And as you read, you thought of how nice it would be to be remembered. To unravel the secrets of the world and sit in the comfort of a cosy reading chair. so instead of leaving with your literature degree, you decided to stay, and learn the ways of scholarship.

You learnt quickly and showed enthusiasm for the wonders of the world under a wise mentor. but during an expedition you were ambushed by raiders. You still have fitful nightmares of night your master lay dying in your arms, but you try to carry on, to finish what your master started.

You are not, however, a brave man, you have never shown courage, and no one has ever expected you to. when you walk through the common town, locals think,
"look here, a spoiled child in his ruined finery, I bet he has never had to work a day in his life!" And its mostly true. but something, through all the anxiety, through all the fear, through all the voices saying,
"give up, you won't succeed," you haven't given up. and perhaps that, is what bravery truly is.
