You did not choose the circumstances that shaped you. Whether taken from the streets, sold into captivity, or simply forgotten by those who should have protected you, you spent part of your life as the subject of magical experimentation.
Arcane procedures, strange substances, painful rituals, and repeated exposure to forces you barely understood became part of your existence. You learned about magic not from books or careful instruction, but from being on the receiving end of it. You witnessed what it could do to flesh, blood, and mind—and survived.
The experience left its mark. Some test subjects bear obvious scars or unnatural alterations, while others carry subtler signs of what was done to them. Whatever form those consequences take, surviving the experiments has made you unusually resilient and given you an unsettling familiarity with the arcane.
