You learned your craft from books before you ever touched a hammer. Maybe you grew up in the archive of a dwarven hold, copying centuries-old forge-manuals by lamplight. Maybe you apprenticed to a master who made you recite metallurgy before you could pick up a tool, or you taught yourself from salvaged schematics and the wreckage of machines no one else could repair. You studied how things are made: the temper of steel, the logic of gears and levers, the runes that bind magic into metal. You learned that every made thing has a reason behind its shape.

Somewhere along the way, theory turned into practice. You know the heat of a working forge, the weight of a hammer and the satisfaction of a mechanism that finally clicks into place. You also picked up a little of the arcane, because you can't truly understand an enchanted blade or a warded door without knowing the magic inside it. Whether you now build, repair, invent or simply take things apart to see how they work, you approach the world the same way: with patient study, careful hands, and the belief that anything broken can be understood and made better.
