Whether it was because you born into a bad situation, or deliberately chose the path less chosen, you have thus far lived a life of crime. You may have been a cold blooded assassin, working for whoever could afford you. Or you might be a common vagrant, picking pockets and locks as you muddle through life. Whatever your exact profession, you've developed a host of contacts throughout Nde and can evoke your thieving name, given to you by your local thieves guild.

One day, while you were at your guild, a cloaked man approached you with a job you couldn't refuse. Not because of any amount of gold he was paying you, but because he had information, information that would destroy your reputation and your life. That man was Elder Councilman Brik Voight, and he has tasked you with carrying out the logistics of his plan to rule all of Nde with an iron fist. You are sworn to secrecy and any help you bring on your mission must be approved by 'the Performer', a pseudonym used by Voight.

Skill Proficiencies: Deception, Stealth, Sleight of Hand
Tool Proficiencies: Thieves’ tools
Languages: In your many adventures, you've done well to pick up of one the more commonly spoke languages in Nde.
Equipment: A crowbar, a set of dark common clothes including a hood, and a pouch containing 25 gp

Guild Job

In your Thieves Guild, everyone had a job to do. Some picked locks, some forged ledges, some were plain-old assassins. What did you do?

d8 Guild Job
1 Blackmailer
2 Guild Thief
3 Fence
4 Road Bandit
5 Assassin
6 Smuggler
7 Double Agent
8 Intermediary

Feature: Evoke the Name

In addition to being able to access both your and the Performer's closest contacts for help, you have a Thieves Name given to you by your Guild. You're able to evoke this name in certain situations which will allow you passage, grant you discounts, or some other benefit even when the thief talking to you doesn't personally know you.

Suggested Characteristics

As a member of a Thieves Guild, you have a sense of honor and adhere to an unwritten, but very strict, set of rules agreed upon by the Guild. That does not, however, mean you are an entirely good person. Some steal for others, some steal for themselves. Why do you steal?

d8 Personality Trait
1 I'm a bit of a street tactician, always having a plan B, C, D ... well, you get the idea.
2 I value stoicism. Cracking under pressure never helped no one.
3 No matter how hard I try, I'm always thinking as if I was on a job.
4 I'm a friendly individual. Why make enemies when you could make another contact?
5 Trust no one and no thing. Everyone has an agenda.
6 Chances and odds are for the lucky. I'm pure talent, I don't need luck.
7 Telling me I can't do something is like putting a steak in front of a lion, I'm gonna bite every time.
8 WHAT'D YOU SAY ABOUT MY MOMMA?!
d6 Ideal
1 Honor. I stick the Guild's rule like honey on paper. (Lawful)
2 Mayhem. There's a natural order to things, and that order is disorder. (Chaotic)
3 Charity. I steal for others. (Good)
4 Greed. I steal for me. (Evil)
5 People. Contacts are what matter, and I'll stick by them. (Neutral)
6 Redemption. People make mistakes, and it's only right to let them fix their own. (Good)
d1 Bond
1 The Performer has some serious dirt on me, so I have to carry out his crazy plan until fruition.
d6 Flaw
1 When I see something valuable, I can’t think about anything but how to steal it.
2 When faced with a choice between money and my friends, I usually choose the money.
3 If there’s a plan, I’ll forget it. If I don’t forget it, I’ll ignore it.
4 I have a “tell” that reveals when I’m lying.
5 I turn tail and run when things look bad.
6 An innocent person is in prison for a crime that I committed. I’m okay with that.
