Street Performer Image

You have a poor background being homeless or close to it. You grew up without money and had to do what it took to survive. You found, or stole, an instrument or playbook or sheet of music and discovered raw talent within yourself. You taught yourself how to perform with this newfound talent to try and make enough money for food. You perform on streets and in parks - nothing glamorous and only a step more than begging but still it usually earns you enough to just about get by.

You have learned every nook and cranny of your home city or town and know precisely which places will be busiest at which times and know how to get there quickly.

Sometimes you are not alone in your performance with an assistant amongst the crowd discretely pickpocketing your captivated audience while they're distracted or perhaps you bring an audience member into your act and they leave some coins lighter for it. Be it performance, pickpocketing or both you have learned to make do as you strive for better - the only way is up.

You find yourself with enough coin to live modestly for 10 days - did you steal this, have you been more successful with your performances lately or has somebody invested in your future thinking you will one day be a star?

Suggested Characteristics

Street performers are shaped by lives of desperate poverty, for good and for ill. They tend to be driven either by a commitment to the people with whom they shared life on the street or by a burning desire to find a better life — and maybe get some payback on all the rich people who treated them badly.
