You have spent your life wandering from place to place, never becoming particularly attached to anything or anyone you find during your travels. You enjoy travel above all else, never wanting to feel tied down. You have learned many things along your journey --some good, some bad, most important-- and these events have shaped you into the person you are today. You have lived off the land for years, foraging, hunting and crafting your own shelters in order to survive. The thrill of the unclaimed calls to you, and you will answer that call no matter what.
Choose why and how your character became a vagabond, and work with your DM to figure out the places you have been to, things you have seen, and people you have met. Were you a child of other vagabonds, raised from childhood to wander and discover? Or were you a blacksmith who suddenly experienced a call to pack your bags and set out for the open world? Perhaps you were the leader of a small city, or even a thriving empire that served a fiendish master that you now run from.
- Skill Proficiencies: Insight, Survival
- Tool Proficiencies: one of your choice
- Equipment: A book picked up along your travels, a set of traveler's clothes Rain Catcher, Herbalism Kit, Insect Repellent-Salve, and a pouch containing 10 gp.
As a vagabond, you have met many people during your years of travel and you have mentally cataloged ones that have skills you do not. If the opportunity occurs where you need a skill or item not possessed by anyone in your party, you are able to call upon your memory of people and pull the name of at least one person who has that skill or item, though they may not be close enough to be helpful. You remember this person's general location, occupation, name, general appearance, and demeanor.
The person will help you with your task, provided you agree to their terms or convince them to change said terms, as long as the task is within their power and not especially hazardous. if they are unable to assist you, they will refer you to someone else who may be able to help. This is also applicable to if the terms of your agreement require extra help from an outside source.
Suggested Characteristics
Vagabonds are shaped by their experience in the world they have traveled across. Their study of the society, nature and the intersection between the two affect their mannerisms and ideals. Their flaws might be some misguided belief based on a bad encounter, or an ideal or bond taken to an extreme.
