Diver

There are many jobs to be found in port towns, from merchants and shipwrights, to fishers and ferrymen. Your profession however was a bit less common. You were a diver, plunging into the deep waters of the ocean on a regular basis in search of goods to be sold on land. You've learned the best tricks for getting around underwater, avoiding riptides and strong currents, sea urchins and electric eels. You've got a better tolerance for the pressure of deep water environments than most people, and have built up strong lungs so that you can hold your breath for longer, allowing you to find and haul in larger quantities of whatever it is you dived for. You've built strong muscles from years of swimming against undersea currents, and you've become so at home in the swaying waves of the ocean that seasickness seldom touches you.

Equipment: A large water resistant sack used to collect and haul in goods, a set of navigator's tools, a small knife used to pry open oysters or sunken chests, cut through seaweed, or hack at coral,  a set of common clothes, and a pouch containing 10 gp

Suggested Characteristics

Divers are hardworking, self reliant folk, staking their livelihood on their ability to bring in a large haul each day. They see opportunity and potential where most others only see risk, and while that mindset can often be a great source of drive, it can also blind them to the dangers they put themselves in.
