Most Aasimar roam the world striking at evil, leading by example, and furthering the cause of justice guided by their celestial agent. This entity is typically a Deva, an angel who acts as a messenger to the mortal world and from an early age, an Aasimar receives visions and guidance from their guardian angel via dreams. These dreams that take the form of visions, prophecies, and feelings help shape an Aasimar, granting a sense of destiny and a desire for righteousness. Sometimes an Aasimar is born with more light of the heavens in them than most others, which is celebrated in Mount Celestia as good omen for the future and a sign that a great battle against evil is near and that the forces of good will prevail. The guardianship of these precious few cannot be trusted to a mere Deva but instead a Solar bonds with the promising young Aasimar. It is said that only 24 Solars exist and the few Solars that are known are stewards for their specific deity. A Solar is the most powerful of angels and the hardest taskmaster unless a deity itself would bond with an Aasimar.
When a Solar bonds with an Aasimar he or she is put on the path to become a Celestial Paladin. Celestial Paladins are not an order but it has not been unheard of Celestial Paladins, even from different deities, banding together in the face of great threat from evil. Though these collaborations can go on for years or even decades they rarely continue after the threat has been removed from the world. Once the Aasimar has shown himself/herself worthy through years of tests, hardships and work in the name of it's deity it is finally anointed a Celestial Paladin physically by it's Solar in a ceremony even the wise know little about. What is known is that when the ceremony is over the Celestial Paladin has bonded with it's Solar guardian, and a celestial tattoo is inscribed on the Celestial Paladins body to seal the bond, usually on the right forearm. This tattoo is only visible to entities of the same alignment and only if the Celestial Paladin so wishes.
Most Celestial Paladins are encouraged by their Solar guardian to quest for a celestial mount in order to facilitate it's progress in the world. The special bond between a Celestial Paladin and Solar makes most celestial mounts positively inclined to such a request, but it is by no means a certainty and ultimately depends on how worthy the celestial mount finds the Celestial Paladin. Common celestial mounts are Pegasi, Unicorns and Couatl but the legends tell of mighty Celestial Paladins that have soared the skies on Ki-Rin and even metallic dragons.
Where ordinary Aasimar work in a general sort of way - helping the poor, defending the weak and punishing evil a Celestial Paladin has a more specific goal. Most commonly a Celestial Paladin is tasked with ending a specific threat, be it ending a demon infestation, killing an ancient dragon planning on returning Tiamat to Faerun or even killing an archdevil. The succesful end of a Celestial Paladins quest releases the Celestial Paladin from the bond to the Solar and an opportunity for the former Celestial Paladin to ascend into the angelic community is offered by it's deity. Most accept and finally experience peace when leaving the mortal world and entering Mount Celestia, but some remain now for the first time in their life free of their celestial guardian.

You can call on your Solar guardian to intervene on your behalf when your need is truly great. Imploring your Solar's aid requires you to use your action. Describe the assistance you seek, and roll a twenty sided dice. If you roll a number equal to or lower than your paladin level, your Solar intervenes. The DM chooses the nature of the intervention; the effect of any cleric spell or cleric domain spell would be appropriate. If your Solar intervenes, you can’t use this feature again for 7 days. Otherwise, you can use it again after you finish a long rest.
A Celestial Paladin also has advantage on social interactions with most followers of the same religious alignment and celestial mounts if he or she reveals their celestial tattoo.
