You have a drive. A drive to research things that people might have made against the laws of your land, maybe immoral by nature, or even down right horrific! But you. You want to research and develop it. This can range from the study of a poison bomb that has been outlawed from a war, the studies of magic like necromancy or worse magic that happened during Mystril's fall or the lack of magic that creates new lifeforms, or the worst of all studying how to put demons under your control. Maybe even a Arch demon or two? Well forbidden researching comes with difficulty. Hope you learn from your mistakes and not your mistakes learn from you.
- Skill Proficiencies: Choose one from Arcana, History, Animal Handling, or Persuasion
- Tool Proficiencies: Choose two types of artisan’s tools.
- Equipment: An Izzet insignia, one set of artisan’s tools, A book filled with forbidden research notes, a set of common clothes, and a belt pouch containing 5 gp
When you attempt to learn or recall a piece of lore, if you do not know that information, you often know where and from whom you can obtain it. Usually, this information comes from a library, scriptorium, university, or a sage or other learned person or creature. Your DM might rule that the knowledge you seek is secreted away in an almost inaccessible place, or that it simply cannot be found. Unearthing the deepest secrets of the multiverse can require an adventure or even a whole campaign.
Spell List
For you, the spells on this table are added to the spell list of your spellcasting class. (If you are a multiclass character with multiple spell lists, these spells are added to all of them.)
| Spell Level | Spells |
|---|---|
| Cantrip | produce flame, shocking grasp |
| 1st | chaos bolt, create or destroy water, unseen servant |
| 2nd | heat metal, rope trick |
| 3rd | call lightning, elemental weapon, glyph of warding |
| 4th | conjure minor elementals, divination, otiluke's resilient sphere |
| 5th | animate objects, conjure elemental |
These spells can be gained from researching magic, messing with the weave to submit to you, or even using other creatures to recreate these spells through blood magic.
If you use an arcane focus, it probably takes the form of an intricate device that could include many different forms, if your into the more lycanthrop it's wolves bane or totem, if it's more blood magic or sacrificial it can be a coin soaked in blood and forged with bone or different viles of blood, and even your artisan tool that holds close to your research.

Contacts
The laboratories of the Izzet League are constantly starting up new projects and dissolving old ones, so it’s easy for even the lowliest attendant to make friends (and enemies) in laboratories across Ravnica.
Roll twice on the Izzet Contacts table (for an ally and a rival) and once on the Non-Izzet Contacts table.
