It's the Hobbye background!
You belong to 4 circles of people, acording to the things you learned by this background: 2 from skill proficiences, 1 from tool proficiency and 1 from language. Any place inhabited by inteligent, sentient beings will have 1 person from 1 of the circles above, or more depending on the size of the settlement. If the nature of the creatures is much alien to ours, they may not have the same concepts, but it may create an interesting scenary on roleplay aspect, E.G.: to work toguether with an aboleth, because both of you like are studants of nature.
- Equipment: You start with 4 itens wich prove to anyone you are part of the groups of people, E.G. a dictionary with your notes, a bodybuilder weight, an kit to survive on the wild (with is a demonstration of your survival skills, those itens doesn't give you any bonus),
the tool you are proficient with and 15 G.P. in a money pouch.
Example of circle integrants: If it's a language, the person learned said language, if it's a tool, the person learned to use said tool, if it's a skill, the person studyes said field of abilities, E.G.: An animal handler might have a petshop, Acrobacy might be a cicus integrant, or a parcour person, Insight might be a wild who believe in it's guts or a Hippie who follow the universe guidance. You could come with other aspects of the personality based on this hobbye.
In general they will be better than you in the aspect they share with you, because they are more focused on this activity than you are, and/or spend more time practicing/learning.
People from a circle in common identify with you and want to help you, they may make you some work, or try to use their abilities to take you out of a chilling situation, serve you some tea or clothes, even find an opposite gender mate they think suit you, be creative.
They may or may not like all your other friends, it will depend on the host personality, but they usualy won't be straight up hostile to them.
Suggested Characteristics
As stamp collecting, you really don't have how to know which hobbye you have, but I've chosen some for those too lazy to chose something interesting, and/or useful.
You can cover your weaknesses, by being proficient in things you have low stats (like strength -1, but proficient in Atletism).
/ Or you can do the opposite and minMax, be Abserdly good in some things, while being trash in others.
/ Or you could choose (stealth or survival), (undercommon or Sylvan), (Smith or Leatherworker or Vehicle) and (nature or healing or animal handling)
/ Or you could chose any 2 skill proficiencies, 1 language and 1 tool proficiency.
Alternatively, you could determine that people doesn't give you gifts when you know them, instead they borrow you a ceilling, usualy something related to their abilities, like a woodcarver's shop, or a Deceptioner might be in a theater, they may want to stay away from you if you are in a lot of danger, and excuse as politely as they would.
