Scarlet Order Image

The Order's philosophy was first set down a thousand years ago, and refined over the centuries - they alone are the chosen people; they are the rightful rulers of the land

Asserting power through deception and infiltration was once your sect's primary goal. Their influence now long in decline, their members scattered and impotent, the Order is considered a relic of another age - ignored and all but forgotten. Another school of thought is beginning to realize that this apparent decline may be their most successful ploy to date; and that their covert network has its tendrils entwined as deeply as ever.

Skill Proficiencies: Deception, and either History or Insight
Tool Proficiencies: Forgery Kit
Languages: Undercommon
Equipment: A set of common clothes, Forgery Kit, a Pouch with 15gp, a simple article of red clothing (brilliant scarlet, dark crimson, or other of player's choice) - this could be a sash, hood, kerchief, etc.

Feature: Covert Contacts

You have a small network of reliable contacts who may act as your liaison to the shadows of the halls of power, whether that be merchant guilds, constable corps, or royal advisors. You know how to get messages to and from your contact, even over great distances; specifically, you know the local messengers, corrupt caravan masters, and seedy sailors who can deliver messages for you.

4 Accusations of your intolerant and judgmental attitude are not unfounded.

Variant Scarlet Order: Reformed Scarlet Brethren

You try to tell anyone who will listen of the persistent insidious threat - though a bit of discretion is likely to keep you alive longer. Few believe you, considering you a conspiracy theory monger, or simply wildly deluded.

Variant Feature: Reformed Zealots

If your whereabouts become known to your old contacts, your life would be in danger. There are however a small set of reformed Scarlet Adepts who know the truth of the old brotherhood, and its insidious goals. You will recognize other apostates, and will find safety and shelter among them.
