Far Traveler (With Domihran's Lore) Image

Almost every common person and other person living along the Centria Conglomerate or within the walls of the New Guardian capital kingdom has one thing in common: they live their lives without ever traveling more than a few miles from where they were born.

You are not one of those people.

You're from a distant place, so remote that few ordinary people realize it exists, and chances are that even if some people you've met have heard of their homeland, they only know the name and maybe some outrageous stories. You have come to this part of Domihran, perhaps fleeing the cold lands of the Southern Ice Mountains where the barbarian peoples live or the great Endless Desert, however you have your own motives, which you may or may not choose to share.

While you undoubtedly find some of the ways this land is strange and disconcerting, you can also be sure that some things that your people take for granted will be new wonders you have never seen before. Similarly, you are a person who draws a lot of attention, for better or worse, to those around you almost anywhere you go.

Why Are You Here?

A far traveler might have set out on a journey for one of a number of reasons, and the departure from his or her homeland could have been voluntary or involuntary. To determine why you are so far from home, roll on the table below or choose from the options provided. The following section, discussing possible homelands, includes some suggested reasons that are appropriate for each location.

d6 Why Are You Here?
1 Emissary
2 Exile
3 Fugitive
4 Pilgrim
5 Sightseer
6 Wanderer

Feature: All Eyes on You

In most situations the people of Centria will treat you with disdain or as a savage, while the arcane rim kingdoms will look with curiosity and a certain awe wavering with respect, however, regardless of where, most people will want to hear their adventures, stories about your coming from faraway lands and this will make you be greeted in most places you normally could not access. Guards will not be so judgmental with ducumentation, Arkannians will try to teach you certain ways, etc.

Suggested Characteristics

Your accent, mannerisms, figures of speech, and perhaps even your appearance all mark you as foreign. Curious glances are directed your way wherever you go, which can be a nuisance, but you also gain the friendly interest of scholars and others intrigued by far-off lands, to say nothing of everyday folk who are eager to hear stories of your homeland.

d6 Personality Trait
1 I have different assumptions from those around me concerning personal space, blithely invading others' space in innocence, or reacting to ignorant invasion of my own.

Variant Far Traveler (with Domihran's lore): Southern Barbarian

You came from the glaciers, not any glacier, but from the Southern Ice Mountains, you came from the edge of the wilds and it is in your garment, in your speech, in your manner. No matter how much you have traveled and how much you have learned, you still carry the culture of the glacier people with you and will always be seen and treated as a "southern barbarian".

Variant Feature: Mad Face.

With you is different, you boast the glory and ferocity of the Barbary people of the Southern Ice Mountains and it terrifies ordinary people. Authorities will keep an eye on you, but most people will look at you with respect for a powerful moneymaker, even if you are not. In terms of rules, you can access areas of the criminal underworld or the sidelines with some ease, but areas of authority are virtually banned for you.
