In 1480s DR a group of Elite Warriors founded a Guild/Faction known as the Vanguards, a group dedicated to the protection of all the realms. You're a member and have trained for years to protect the realm you are stationed in. You respect and try to follow the rules of the Vanguards.
- We do not kill people.
- We do not start fights.
- We must try to disarm, and give a chance to yield. If they do not yield, we may kill them.
- That is the only way we are allowed to kill people.
- We are to put the safety of the others of the realm before our own.
- This pertains to the realm we are "taking force in"
- We do not act politically, or in other territories without permission lest it be absolutely necessary.
