Mind Flayed Image

Many commonfolk across the land know of the dreaded Mind Flayers only through folk tales and bedtime stories as something to fear mention of, but not something that will ever truly be a threat to them. Mind Flayers don't live under the bed, or in the closet, but in far off lands, distant planes, or deep within the Underdark. You know better. Through some twist of fate, you were the subject of Mind Flayer experimentation. Perhaps you were captured at a young age, or perhaps you were simply unlucky enough to stumble into their midsts, but regardless of how you came to be a thrall and how you escaped their clutches, the marks of your time as a slave to the will these otherworldly beings are unmistakable in your appearance and manner.

Feature: Mind Flayer's Mark

You have some feature that marks you out as a victim of some experimentation. This abnormality results in those around you, especially less worldly individuals, being put in a state of immediate unease, and makes you a figure of either pity or fear. You can often use this to your advantage to get your way in many situations through intimidation or or deception, playing to an individual's fear of you or pity for you. Though they will not risk their lives for you, those that fear or pity you will do what they can to help you and shield you from harm.

In addition, you are familiar with the layout of mind flayer settlements and laboratories, and can effectively navigate them, and understand the purpose of many tools within them.
