You are from a prominent military family. You were enrolled into a military academy in your teenage years in order to follow the officer tradition of your ancestors. Your days were filled with a combination of scholarly pursuits and wargames. You were taught tactics, improvisation, and to know the ways of your enemies. You were taught how to command troops in and out of battle. You were taught the language of some of your most common enemies in case you intercept missives or are able to overhear communication.
You do not have vassals or collect taxes, but your family name carries weight and may open doors that would otherwise be closed.
Work with your DM to determine what type of military academy you went to, and what your family history is. Is your family known for being Army Officers and you went to an Army Academy to follow in their footsteps? Or did you buck the trend and join a Naval Academy instead? Are any of your family still active? If so, what is their reputation and what unit do they serve in?
Are your family still in the good graces of the Kingdom or has your family reputation seen better days? What is your position inside the family?

- Languages: Choose two standard languages (Dwarvish, Elvish, Giant, Gnomish, Goblin, Halfling, Orc)
If your training was naval, you have knowledge about the different types of ships and their standard loadouts and crew compliments. This includes information like ship speeds relative to each other and weapon ranges. This means you have advantage on checks related to this information.
If your training was for the army, you know standard combat tactics. You have advantage on combat related checks to spot things like enemy ambushes, armaments and total numbers.
Suggested Characteristics
You are bound to your family name, for better or worse. That means the actions of your family past and present affects your standing in the Kingdom and you affect theirs. This may mean you have to overcome the negative reputation of a sibling or parent, they may even become your rival. Conversely, your overall standing rises along with any positive deed of note by any member of your family.
