Tiresias may or may not have been an elder god of mischief. They have been long gone from this world but have left behind a handful of incredibly powerful artifacts whose purpose seems to be to do nothing but cause mischief and mayhem. In your case, you touched a stone. It wasn't a particularly noteworthy stone, a pale gray rock shot through with streaks of black. You would have walked right by if you hadn't caught a whiff of powerful magic. Upon touching it, you suddenly found yourself in another place and in another body. It took time, but you finally have discovered the source of your transference. Tieresias's Knob is a supposedly mythical artifact that causes anyone to touch it to randomly swap bodies with another sentient being who has touched the Knob at any point in the past (so long as they are still alive). In addition, the swap always changes the gender of the body the target is being swapped to. What's worse, at random intervals, your body is randomly swapped again. You awaken with all of your current gear but in a wholly new body. Your abilities, feats, and spells transfer to your new body (or are replaced by spells of equal level).
- Skill Proficiencies: Due to years of suddenly appearing to be a new person, you have gained proficiency in Deception, Perception, and Persuasion.
- Tool Proficiencies: As should be obvious, you have also become proficient with Disguise Kits and Forgery Kits.
- Languages: You are very proficient in languages as you seem to learn a new one every time you switch bodies. Choose 4 languages.
- Equipment: You have learned the hard way to always have equipment and a means to escape ready and waiting due to your changes. Your starting gear includes: A bit and bridle, fishing tackle, cooks utensils, explorer's pack, flask or tankard, forgery kit, grappling hook, robes (as they're easy to modify what with the new bodies), rope, saddle pack, saddle bags, and a tent.
You may choose from the following mounts: camel, donkey or mule, draft horse, pony, or a riding horse.
1- Dwarf
2- Gnome
3- Elf
4- Halfling
5- Half Orc
6- Tiefling
7- Half-Elf
8- Dragon Born
9- Firblog
10- Goblin
11- Orc
12- Genasi
13- Goliath
14- Minatour
15- Changeling
16- Drow
17- Kalashtar
18- Shifter
19- Warforged
20- Aarakocra
With each change, you retain all of your spells, feats, abilities, etc. and there is a chance you will learn something new when you get the new body- a spell, a feat, a proficiency, etc. Work with the DM to determine what your new body brings. When creating a character choose two spells, feats, or proficiencys per level. (Assume you have inhabited one body per level so can choose from one class per level.)

I am extremely uncomfortable in my own skin (since it’s not my own skin). I’m always questioning my appearance and experimenting with new looks. |
2 |
I am enthralled with my new body and dress to show it off. I am perhaps drawn to clothing that is a little too revealing or makes others uncomfortable because I like the look of me. |
3 |
I refuse to acknowledge my gender has changed. I dress and act as my original gender/race. I don’t put on shows. |
4 |
My new body is incredibly different from my last and I’m not comfortable in it, meaning I’m super clumsy. |
5 |
The change always happens when I sleep so I always sleep alone and in private. |
6 |
My body has been stolen from me and I have no control over when it will be stolen again. This makes me very nervous and I get flustered easily. |

Ideal |
1 |
Faith. Despite my trials and tribulations, I trust that my deity will guide my actions. I have faith that if I work hard, things will go well. (Lawful) |
2 |
Change. We must help bring about the changes the gods are constantly working in the world. My current situation is proof of that. (Chaotic) |
3 |
Respect. I have lived and seen life from a dual perspective and as many races, I more than most know all people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. (Good) |
4 |
Maniacal. My situation may bother some, but to me it is an escape. I can do what I will when I will because who knows what tomorrow may bring? My body knows no bounds nor does my debauchery. (Evil) |
5 |
Sincerity. There's no good pretending to be something I'm not. I share with others my story should they care to listen.(Neutral) |
6 |
Confusion. I have no idea who I am anymore so I take on the traits of the companion with which I identify most. (Any) |
