You were raised by either priests or masters. As an infant, you were either abandoned on the doorstep of a school or church, orphaned by tragedy and death, or offered to a master or clergyman for some service or deal.

 
Skill Proficiencies: History, the second skill is determined who raised you, for example, if raised by clergy, Religion, if by a master bard, Performance, etc.
Tool Proficiencies: You are proficient in the tools of your master of clergy.
Languages: One language of your choice
Equipment: Depends on master, for example, a harp from a bard or a small pocket book of cantrips from a wizard.

Depending on who your master was, who have all first level features of your master's trade. If you choose to have the same trade as your master, if anything at level one provides choices, you gain one extra, .eg. one extra fighting style, one extra cantrip, ect.

 
Suggested Characteristics

Orphan's are shaped by their childhood in two main ways. Even if they know the stories of their parents, they either want to know more about them or are ashamed of them and are bitter towards them. The other influence upon them is their training, that despite what they do with their life, they will always remember what they were taught.
