Sorcerer's Apprentice Image

You were an attendant, underling, or servant to a mighty and significant sorcerer. Mayhem surrounded your early life as arcane forces flowed through yourself and those around you. Perhaps you were raised from birth in the sorcerer's service, possibly you were sold into servitude, you may have even sought help to understand why you are they you are, or your family may have sent you as a child to learn the ways of magic. Whether your master either trained you to either temper your unpredictable nature or embrace the impulses that guide your actions, you certainly gained some insight into the intricacies of magic during your time of service.

During the formative time you spent under your instructors tutelage a lot of that time was spent performing mundane tasks. You were often charged with the cooking of meals, organizing the manuals and tomes, and cleaning your teachers dwelling you both resided in. Which may have been a distant solemn monastery, stylish cottage, subterranean grotto, or an abandoned house in the marshes. After many years of arcane training beneath the guidance of the sorcerer, you finally were able to harness and focus the internal chaotic powers that churn within you.

Equipment: Travel Altar:

A small finely decorated box often made of wood, metal or bone having various inscribed with mysterious arcane glyphs, sigils, and text; this altar can be used to aid in ritual spells. Besides yourself and your master, only the most knowledgeable can decipher their true meaning. Contained with are a few ritual candles, a small mirror, several small stones and crystals, some ornate coins, a few cones of incense, small metal rods and sticks. These are all inscribed with fine intricate arcane markings.

While you may not be prestigious or even noteworthy, you can solicit the name of your teacher to get what you want. Some folks will be impressed with you or even agree to certain requests if you utter the name of the master you studied with especially if you have exhibit practice with the arcane arts. Other magic practitioners may grant you an audience as well, if they know and respect your teacher. You possess or wear a piece of arcane jewelry that bears your sorcerer's mark; be that a medallion, an amulet, an earring(s) or a ring you wear, and may use that to demonstrate association with that sorcerer.

They may seek to become a powerful mage, to grasp why powerful arcane forces flow through them, or be on the run from their instructor. They may be tormented with doubts about their abilities or drastically overestimate them.
