You are a student of a temple, monastery, or magic academy. You were sent on either a sort of coming of age pilgrimage that would enlighten you to exotic places of great importance to your order, or on some other sabbatical year of of exploring the world. Things went wrong during your travels (at least in the opinion of your superiors), an awakening you had due to new insight, love, betrayal, or just wanting a different thing have made you abandon your pilgrimage and leave your order behind.
you may decide if your order has denounced you, are pleading for your return, have vowed to hunt you down or are totally oblivious of this change of heart. the path you take for here on out is your own (or that of the party, but what's the difference anyway?).
- Skill Proficiencies: 1 skill proficiency of the following: for spellcaster classes- arcana, for other classes- history/religion.
1 skill proficiency of choice that fits the reason you abandoned your pilgrimage quest. or of the following: Survival, Perception, Investigation, persuasion.
- Languages: you know one extra language that the inhabitants of your pilgrimage destination use.
- Equipment: you have a book of the code of the order (that you left), a rough sketch of your would be destination, a travelers pack, and a pouch with 10 gp.
you have decided, to follow your on path and leave your old order. by doing so you have taken some control back over your life and fate, and this has made you seem more confident and inspiring. Most people would follow your guidance and lean on you for advice readily, others would be amused or entertained by your newfound sense of freedom and responsibility.
{how i like to play these kinds of features is to give the player a chance to sway me or impress me role playing and then decide if i want to give him advantage on a roll that pertains to the task he RP'd}

- does not coincide with your pilgrim destination.
- does not coincide with the reason you left your order.
