You've spent your entire life looking around your shoulder. Every moment of every day, there is something in the darkness, looking for you. There - just now - did you hear that?

Any slight you receive, any piece of bad luck, reaffirms your mistrust of existence. The universe is running a grand conspiracy to snuff out your life in particular. Everyone is in on it. Everyone is a stranger. You trust no one. 

Only ever-present vigilance can prolong your precarious existence. You lurk in the shadows, striking quickly before the faceless horde can take you.

Tool Proficiencies: Despite your best efforts, you are sometimes forced to rely on others who will inevitably seek to cheat, steal, and enslave you. Knowing that anyone at any time might double-cross you, you've learned to master the art of disguise. The fewer people who know the real you, the better. You've also learned how to master thieves' tools. Thorough knowledge of their methods is the only way to protect yourself.
