You are a caporegime for a mafia-esque organisation, in which you control a territory and/or a team of people. You are well versed in the going ons and criminal activity of your jurisdiction, collecting from the citizens in return for protection. You may or may not oversee drug deals and permit illicit activities.
Those sworn under you as your team have full trust for each other and you would trust the members of your squad with your life. You are respected by your team, and are able to command an intimidating aura to keep anyone questioning your authority in line.
Work with your DM to determine the specifics of the organisation that your capo comes from, as well as any significant members of their team, and details about the territory they look after.
- Skill Proficiencies: Persuasion, Intimidation
- Tool Proficiencies: One type of gaming set, one set of tools.
- Languages: Two languages of choice.
- Equipment: A dagger, a set of dark well-tailored clothes, a signet ring, and a purse containing 100 gp
You have reliable and trustworthy contacts who act as your liaisons to networks of other people. You know how to get messages to and from your contacts, even over great distances; specifically, you know the local messengers, corrupt caravan masters, and seedy sailors who can deliver messages for you.
Suggested Characteristics
Mobsters might seem like villains on the surface, and many of them are villainous to the core. But some have an abundance of endearing, if not redeeming, characteristics. There might be honour among thieves, but mobster rarely show any respect for law or authority that is not their own.
As a figure of authority in your organisation, it is your duty to look out for the people and your team, who is more like a family than anything else. And although you care about them, you cannot afford to be soft, and must still carry out other, possibly unpleasant, duties.
