Lawyer

You were, or perhaps still are, a student of the law. Maybe you studied under the private tutelage of one of the great Lawmasters, or perhaps you attended a more formal scholastic institute to persue knowlegde of legal practice. Regardless, your studies have taught you a rather specific set of skills; skills which can convince some people to loosen their purse strings for your services. 

You may have had your talents scouted by a Law firm, offering your skills to any who could pay the necessary fees, or perhaps you were one of the legal experts who's services were retained by court and crown. You might even be on the payroll of a particular guild to ensure all their dealings are, or at least appear to be, above board.

Even if you are no longer a practicing member of the legal profession, your relationships with your former fellows can be an advantage for you and your adventuring comrades. A glib tongue and a quick wit are useful, particularly when they can provide allies with the same.

1	I can get erratic when a tough case isn't going well.
