You were once a normal creature of simple flesh and blood, but your physiology is no longer entirely natural. Through marvels of engineering and secrets of the arcane, portions of your body have been replaced with mechanical parts that are cleverly laced with arcane energies. These augmentations work just as well, if not better than the organics they imitate.

Perhaps this drastic change was your choice, or it was something granted to you by either a cruel fate or a kind destiny. Your augmentation could a blessing after you've endured a deformity or disability; or you were cursed by a madman's lust for experimentation. Regardless of how you came to be this way, you are now something else; something more...

Skill Proficiencies: Arcana, and choose either Athletics,  or Acrobatics

Origin Story

How did it come to this?

d4 Origin Story
1 Rehabilitated: You have replacement parts because you were maimed or dismembered in a violent accident.
2 Improved: You willingly submitted to or performed experimental procedures on yourself to enhance your physical form.
3 Fabricated: You’ve lived your whole life with a serious bodily defect and now have the prosthetics to compensate.
4 Theseus’s Paradox: You are trying to cheat death by replacing your anatomy piece by piece as your natural body fails you.

Feature: Living Curio

Your unique physical form sparks the curiosity of those inclined towards Mechanical and/or Arcane arts. Engineers or Scholars may offer free assistance to you and your party for the chance to examine or study your unnatural features. In addition, your enhancement has granted you at least one peculiar 'trick' that you can perform that will delight, confuse, or shock an audience. Once per day, you can swallow your pride and busk with your special talent in a populated area for 5d6 minutes, to earn a total of 1d4 gold from various passers-by.
