Expelled Apprentice

You were under the tutelage of a renowned master who saw in you the seeds of greatness. Perhaps you were the top student of your class, or the potential successor to your master's legacy. But by one way or another, you refused to conform to certain rules or standards, and your teacher expelled you from their service, school, or monastery. Why did you and your master have a falling out? Given the opportunity, would you confront your old master, and would you seek revenge, redemption, or neither?  Do you continue to seek out resources to finish the education you were trying to obtain, or have you broken tradition and found a way to put your own heretical spin on things? How do you seek to prove yourself against your master's teachings?

Skill Proficiencies: Choose two skills you acquired as part of your education: Arcana, History, Insight, Perception, Medicine, Nature, Religion, Survival.

Tool Proficiencies: Your master taught you the importance of structure and discipline by having you hone an artisan craft. Pick one artisan tool from the following list that you practiced daily when you were a formal apprentice: Alchemist's Supplies, Calligrapher's Supplies, Carpenter's Tools, Cartographer's Tools, Cobbler's Tools, Glassblower's Tools, Herbalism Kit, Jeweler's Tools, Leatherworker's Tools, Mason's Tools, Navigator's Tools, Painter's Supplies, Potter's Tools, Smith's Tools, Tinker's Tools, Weaver's Tools, Woodcarver's Tools.

Languages: You have read many ancient scrolls and books in their original script, or your master would recite mysterious pieces of knowledge and wisdom in a foreign tongue. Pick any additional language that you developed under the guidance of your old master.

Equipment: A set of common robes; a small, leather-bound notebook; a stolen brooch of your master's sigil; a gold pouch containing 5 gp.

1	I hate being told what to do so much, that sometimes I'll do the exact opposite just to tick people off.
2	I am an oddball that enjoys breaking the harmless norms of society; I wear socks on my hands and gloves on my feet.
3	I am so overcome with shame by the falling out with my master that I am devoted to proving my cause worthy and seek redemption.
4	I'm waiting for the day when I can confront my master again and make them suffer the consequences of their choices.
5	I see nothing wrong with challenging old traditions and teachings; just because something works doesn't mean that it can't be improved.
6	I am respectful to everyone I meet, except those that demand to be respected.
