Few people in your village are so wealthy as you the moment you step out down the road to adventure. Your riding horse (name ?) is one that you have had for half your young life. (He / she) is old for a horse, but loyal and well trained.
You leave behind more than just a home town and family and friends. Your childhood sweetheart is the only real heartbreak you feel looking back seeing (the person's) sad tear filled face.
You are a reasonably skilled (some kind of artisan), and are confident you will find work easily enough when there is need to earn money. And that time may come soon, as your starting money is 1d10 gold after being outfitted.
You are a skilled hunter and fisherman and have a "hunting bow" that is equivalent in range to a short bow. The home made arrows of which you have 3d4, do 1d6 damage.
You also have a simple fly casting and bait pole and net with 1d6 hooks and 100' of good string.
You also have a small game leg-hold trap, ideal for squirrels and rabbits, and know how to make snares and dead fall animal traps. You have 40' of fine wire for trap making purposes.
Aside from your other items you have two sizable flints, a good knife (dagger equivalent), and a whetstone.
Your mother and or sisters packed you a blanket, and 3 days standard and two days hardtack rations. You have one small water skin (1/2 standard size), and one full sized on typically with the horse.
