A simple deal, a chance to learn, grow powerful with magic, put a phase on aging. It seemed too good to be true, and it was.
At some point in your life a fey offered you a deal. Access to their realm in exchange for access to yours. You accept and at first their are no consequences. You spend years, maybe decades, perhaps even centuries in the fey realm. You learned skills, languages, and spells. You became regarded as family to the fey and you knew you would always have a home with them whenever you pleased.
Remember those consequences from before? When you finally return to the real world you realize time has passed (weeks, months, or a few years) and the fey that gave you the deal took over your life. Now you might have new enemies, be wanted by the police, or in debt to a shady organization or two. Either way you’ve got a lot of work to do to clear your name and fix your reputation. But I’m sure you can use what you’ve learned to help you succeed and maybe not get killed by another new fantasy mob member that shows up to collect.
- Skill Proficiencies: You learned and practiced your skills for years. Pick History and any other skill.
- Tool Proficiencies: Choose one tool or musical instrument. Using it you can make fey specific crafts or play more fey soecific music.
- Languages: You learn Sylvan.
- Equipment: A necklace of thin silver chord from the Feywild. An ancient book, and a map that will always lead you to the nearest entrance back to the fey realm.
You have a magical map that always leads you to the nearest entrance back to the Fey realm. The map cannot be destroyed or stolen and can be dismissed and summoned to and from a personal pocket dimension. To anyone else it simply looks like a blank piece of paper. With this map one can enter the Fey realm whenever they please but there is no guarantee there is an entrance anywhere nearby.
