You spend most of your time speaking the tongues of far lands, tasting the foods of other nations and discussing the future of alliances. You're a Diplomat, the barrier before the war or even the cause of it. You could have been a child who was really good at convincing your friends to do things for/with you, maybe you were a teenager that was always charming your way out of problems or maybe even an adult who was just too good with words for your own good, there are many possible origins for a diplomat, they could be nobles from silver-tongued rogues, your past matter not, only your proficiency in convincing those around you to follow you down a cave full of angry and hungry dragons.
Diplomats usually settle in diplomatic and noble cities, where they can be in touch with their director and fellow diplomatic compatriots or foreign negotiators.
- Skill Proficiencies:
Diplomats are experts on History and on many languages, they studied for years the art of negotiation and persuasion, they are the first ones you go when you need to breach a thick skull without violence.
- Tool Proficiencies: Diplomats are very good calligraphers, they have a need to write the most astonishing pretty letters to swoon their fellow diplomats and to pass a good impression on the negotiating table. However, many Diplomats appreciate a good map, so many take in to their own hands to produce very detailed maps with more political information into it.
- Languages: A Diplomat needs to be on their top of the game when it comes to languages. A Diplomat that knows only two or three tongues is seen as a weak one.
- Equipment: Diplomats are not very fond of conflict, and those who are end up following more a strategist career path. However, Diplomats can be high valued targets for numerous political or personal reasons, so it's important for them to defend themselves.
Diplomats have nobles and political contacts under their belt, and with their title they can easily find refugee, resources and guidance with said contacts. Even in foreign countries, finding shelter should prove easy in case you find an embassy of your nation. However, no political or powerful figure will put their name on the fire in case you are more that they can chew, and your nation's embassy can protect you for only a certain amount of time. However, for this to work, it's necessary that you present your Diplomatic Identification otherwise this won't be possible.
