You are, or once were, the protector of a location, person, or object. Your soul mission has been to protect this charge from any and all outside threats, and as such you have learned a variety of skills in order to spot these threats and keep them at bay or avoid them all together.
Perhaps you are protecting a particularly adventurous young noble, or maybe you were forced to take your charge on the road in order to hide from assassins. If you are no longer guarding your ward, consider what may have happened and if you had anything to do with it. Discuss with your DM who or what your charge may have been and why you were tasked with protecting them.
- Skill Proficiencies: Insight, Perception
- Tool Proficiencies: One type of vehicle or gaming set
- Languages: One of your choice
- Equipment: An insignia, emblem, or piece of armour bearing the mark or insignia of your charge, a set of clothes appropriate to your duties and a pouch containing 15 gold pieces
You have a keen eye and an ear for danger, you can ignore any penalties to your passive perception or Wisdom (Perception) checks imposed by traveling at a fast pace as long as you are traveling with fewer than 10 creatures.
Suggested Characteristics
You are, or at least you were, focused on one task, protecting your charge, and most would be hard pressed to sneak past you while you were on the job. In many ways, this may have shaped the person you are.
Perhaps you were once a grizzled soldier or perhaps this is what you have know for your whole life. Regardless, your time as a guardian will most likely remain a major influence on your morals and life decisions.
