Excommunicated

From the moment of your birth, you were groomed for the priesthood.  But at a young age, you rebuked the God of your home clan in search of your own religious path.  You were cast out of your home clan and excommunicated as a heretic. Despite your zealous devotion to your found deity, the leaders of your chosen faith never fully accepted you as a true disciple.  As a result, you have lived a life of exile and isolation but remain steadfast in your commitment to your religious ideals.

The Excommunicated are shaped by their experience devoted to a faith that doesn't fully accept them.  This can result in diametrically opposed personalities.  Those who seek the light of Good are motivated by an emotionally authentic connection to others by way of their faith.  However, those who have been corrupted by the darkness of Evil are truly dastardly people who have learned to weaponize manipulation as a tool to selfishly extract what they want from others.
