When you were still newly made, a person or persons of the Fey crept into your home and took you from your crib. In your place, they left a child of their own kind, an infant disguised with Fey magic to fool your birth parents.
Growing up in the Feywild made you more like than than the race of your birth, but you have always been a child of two worlds. The battle always rages within you: a desire to fit into the Feywild and Fey society that raised you, and a longing to know where you are from and who you might have been.
Character Considerations:
- What type of Fey are your family?
- Are you and/or your family aligned with the Seelie Court, Unseelie Court, or neither?
- Do you want to meet your blood parents or the Fey who replaced you?
- When/how did you find out you were a stolen child?
- Skill Proficiencies: Arcana, Nature
- Tool Proficiencies: Herbalism Kit
- Languages: Elvish or Sylvan
- Equipment: Herbalism Kit, a small oilskin pouch of soil from the Feywild, 10 gold pieces minted by either the Seelie Court or Unseelie Court featuring their Queen's profile
The Feywild and its people have accepted you as one of their own, granting you abilities non-Fey do not possess and privileges to come and go from the land freely.
You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.
You are immune to the curse that is placed upon non-visitors when they leave the Feywild, and retain all of your memories of your time spent there clearly. Additionally, you are able to navigate the timestream between the Planes smoothly, and when you and your companions depart from the Feywild, you can choose to arrive in the Material Plane with chronological consistency, such that the same period of time you spent in the Feywild has elapsed when you arrive.
Suggested Characteristics
Growing up in the Feywild sets you apart from others who were born on the Material Plane, and you are notably different.
d8 | Personality Trait |
---|---|
1 | All plants in the Feywild can talk if they choose to, so I believe the ones on the Material Plane can too, but are just shy. |
2 | I was the only one in my Fey family who needed to sleep, so I've never had a real bed before and prefer to use something else. |
3 | My Fey parents are clever dealmakers, so I am very skilled at making one-sided deals. |
4 | A person's word is held absolute among the Fey. I never lie, though I may weave my way around the truth, and I will hold you to yours with no quarter given. |
5 | Raised in the Feywild, the ways of the Material Plane are strange and fascinating to me. I keep a detailed notebook full of notes about this plane and it's people, customs, and quirks. |
6 | I am still loyal to the Fey Court my family is aligned with and its Queen, and I abhor the *other* court. |
7 | I turned away from the Court my family is aligned with, and the consequences of that decision follow me to this day. |
8 | I am always extremely taken with beauty and talent. I'm a sucker for an artist or musician with a pretty face. |
d4 | Ideal |
---|---|
1 | Seelie - On all planes, nature and beauty are the most important things. |
2 | Unseelie - The strange, unusual, and unwelcome possess a beauty all their own. |
3 | Unaligned - Power itself does not accord wisdom. I have found that instead, wisdom is often found in empathy for one's fellow beings. |
4 | Unaligned - The world contains multitudes, as do I. We must endeavor to live outside of binaries and absolutes. |
d6 | Bond |
---|---|
1 | I am aligned to the Seelie Court, led by Queen Titania. |
2 | I am aligned to the Unseelie Court, led by the Queen of Air and Darkness. |

4 | My Fey parents are the only parents I need. I don't care about the family I left behind. |
5 | After a chance encounter with the Fey child left behind in my place, my swap-sibling and I are as close as true siblings. |
6 | I left everyone I once knew and loved behind in the Feywild. I will build a new family for myself here. |
