In Eberron, a Wandslinger has been trained in the lowest levels of arcane magics. They have access to a couple of cantrips and possibly a 1st level spell. Offensive spells are typically selected. Arcane focuses are traditionally used by wandslingers, but it is not a requirement.
- Skill Proficiencies: Arcana
- Tool Proficiencies: As a soldier, you spent plenty of time learning to play dice or cards. You've also been trained in woodcarver's tools to create your own arcane focus: a wand, rod, or staff.
- Languages: Choose one language. It is customary to chose the language of your adversary in the war.
- Equipment: You can choose an arcane focus. While a wand is typical, obviously, any arcane focus can be chosen. An insignia of rank, a set of bone dice or deck of cards, a set of common clothes, and a pouch containing 10 gp.
You have been trained not only to fight on the battlefield, but trained for a battlefield with magical weapons. While you might not be a wizard or cleric or any traditional kind of caster, you have been taught about how they fight and have learned a few of their tricks for yourself. You have a military rank from your career as a Wandslinger. Soldiers loyal to your former military organization still recognize your authority and influence, and they defer to you if they are of a lower rank. You can invoke your rank to exert influence over other soldiers and requisition simple equipment or horses for temporary use. You can also usually gain access to friendly military encampments and fortresses where your rank is recognized.
Spell List
