Work together with your DM to make out details for the cult. Is the cult well known or just a small one that barely anyone has heard of? Where is it based? What does it revolve around? Are there certain goals? Is it accepted by the public or shunned?
What about your own role? Did you found it? If yes why? How did you get people to follow you? Are you revered as a prophet? Maybe even a god? If no, when and why did you join? How did you come into the position you currently have? And what are your responsilities in this role?
Is there a symbol you carry? How do you identify other members of the cult? Do you have a signal, a secret greeting? how can you be identified as the leader, if at all?
Due to your position, you know all too well how to not only have people follow you, but also make them do your bidding. You are good with words if you want to and able to exploit people if that is what you wish to do. People are inclined to trust you with their secrets, even their lives sometimes, and flock to you for guidance.
