Stolen as a newborn you were tortured, experimented, or beaten upon for years not even given the decency to be treated as a sentient being. Slave is the closest word to describe you but even that isn't enough for what you have gone through, the event when you finally escaped has left you mistrusting, feral, uncivilized and haunted by nightmares of all those years of abuse.
You must be a 1 to 3 in either constitution, intelligence and/or strength to qualify for this background.

you speak with animals, thieves cant, or you may choose the main language your captor/captors spoke around you
- Equipment: You start with peasant clothing but you may also choose to start with no clothing, and one trinket of special significance (choose one or roll on the Gothic Trinkets table)
Before being free you were worse then a slave, and are still plagued by the memory of such horror to this day. Off of the table choose a childhood that you had to grow up in and spent well into adulthood doing

Those who look into your eyes can see that you have faced unimaginable horror and that you are no stranger to darkness. They will possibly try to help, or not understand how to approach you even after learning just how bad it was. You find a kinship with slaves and can strike unease in slave owners or abusers
