The Amulet of Reaver.

That evil is the Tiefling sorcerer, the sorcerer put his soul into the amulet before he died so he could corrupt the wearer to serve as his body only in dire times. The original owner of the amulet was a Fae, more specifically one tainted by Shadow-Fell magic. The writing my character find isn't in Elven, it's in Sylvan. A laguage that the fae/fairies use. Also talking magic animals. Elven is derived from it so its a little similar. You wouldn't be able to fully understand, but you see some words well enough to persuade you to put it on. Just some background info in case you don't know. Fae are magic people from the feywilds. It's all fluffy creatures and fun times basically. Anyway fae are pranksters, but on occasion they take it too far. So this is an Arch Fey that is also chaotic evil and released the terrasque as a dark joke. He was hunted down and killed by celestials after the terrasque was detained. The place you find his amulet is actually the ruins of an old fey portal the their plane, torn apart during the fight. You put it on, he laughs at you and calls you his new jester - tries to enslave you basically. The penalty for removing it yourself is death and speaking about it is a Cha save or you take a d12 psychic damage. He won't penalize you for someone stealing it because he'd think it's funny to watch someone else suffer before dying to take it off. After you wear it, the rest of the writing is translated and it tells you all of this basically.
