Druid Grove Tender Image

You and your family have been tending to a grove under the effects of a permanent Druid Grove spell (Found on page 154 of Xanathar's Guide to Everything). You have spent years being absorbed in the lore, nature, and life of the druid that lived and created this place.

Skill Proficiencies: You gain proficiency in any two of Nature, History, Survival, or Animal Handling based on what your role in the grove was.
Tool Proficiencies: You gain proficiency with Herbalism Kits.
Languages: You gain any one language connected to the Druid that originated the grove.

Feature: Remember the Grove

Due to living within or around a Druid Grove for so long you have the ability to sense whenever you grow close to one. Whenever you are within a mile of a location that has had Druid Grove cast upon it you know exactly where the grove is.

Suggested Characteristics

You may have stayed within the Druid Grove for as long as you can remember or you may have lived in a nearby town you and your DM must work out these details.

d8 Personality Trait
1 I idolize the druid who created my home, and constantly refer to that person’s deeds and example.
2 I’ve spent so long in the grove that I have little practical experience dealing with people in the outside world.
3 I am tolerant (or intolerant) of other faiths and respect (or condemn) the worship of other gods.
4 I feel far more comfortable around animals than people.
5 I have a lesson for every situation, drawn from observing nature.
6 Nothing can shake my optimistic attitude.
7 I begin or end my day with small traditional rituals that are unfamiliar to those around me.
8 I have different assumptions from those around me concerning personal space, blithely invading others’ space in innocence, or reacting to ignorant invasion of my own.
d6 Ideal
1 Impact. Death is a part of life and therefore inescapable but what we leave behind is what truly can be immortal. (Any)
2 Tradition. The ancient traditions of worship and sacrifice must be preserved and upheld. (Lawful)
3 Change. Life is like the seasons, in constant change, and we must change with it. (Chaotic)
4 Nature. The natural world is more important than all the constructs of civilization. (Neutral)
5 Open. I have much to learn from the kindly folk I meet along my way. (Good)
6 Honor. If I dishonor myself, I bring dishonor to the name of the Ancient Druid my family serves. (Lawful)
d6 Bond
1 My grove and family is the most important thing in my life, even when they are far from me.
2 I am the last of my grove, and it is up to me to ensure their names enter legend.
3 I would die to recover an ancient relic of my faith that was lost long ago.
4 I suffer awful visions of a coming disaster and will do anything to prevent it.
5 No one should take from nature out of greed. You take from nature out of necessity of survival.
6 So long as I have this token from my grove, I can face any adversity in the outside world.
d6 Flaw
1 There’s no room for caution in a life lived to the fullest.
2 I judge others harshly, and myself even more severely.
3 I can’t keep a secret to save my life, or anyone else’s.
4 I enjoy comfort and quiet, and prefer to avoid extra effort.
5 I can’t keep a secret to save my life, or anyone else’s.
6 I assume that people mean well until they prove otherwise.

Variant Feature: Name of an Ancient

You have heavily studied the lore of that Ancient Druid that created your original Druid Grove. As such you have the ability to recall any information written in the Druid's tales about a location that that druid has been to or visited before.

(Up to DM's discretion.)
