You were resurrected from the undead ashes by a curse or a blessing placed on you by your god or gods before they died but you were given a new found constitution and drive to move on, whether your goal is to resurrect your god or continue the cycle that they left behind you continue forth with nothing but your will.

You spent your first life in the service of a temple to a specific god or pantheon of gods. You used to act as an intermediary between the realm of the holy and the mortal world, performing sacred rites and offering sacrifices in order to conduct worshipers into the presence of the divine. You were not necessarily a cleric—performing sacred rites is not the same thing as channeling divine power.
All of the ties you once had are all dead and gone, all you have left is your will and ability to move forth.
Ashen Will: After your resurrection you understand the essence of death and can bring yourself back to life with ease. You gain Advantage on your first two death saving throws.
Ashen Vitality: You don't need to eat or sleep for your body is made from ash, but you feel the need for normalcy from time to time.
