You thrive in front of an audience. You know how to entrance them, entertain them, and even inspire them. Your flashy antics can stir the hearts of those who see you, thrilling and chilling your audience. Your art raises their spirits, your acrobatics captivate, and your humor cuts to the quick. Your art is your life.
- Skill Proficiencies: Acrobatics, Performance
- Tool Proficiencies: Tap Shoes, Disguise Kit, Throwing Knives
- Equipment: A matched set of throwing knives gifted to you by your mentor Glaatu, a pair of tap shoes, the favor of an admirer (love letter, lock of hair, or trinket), a costume, and a belt pouch containing 15 gp
A good knife act is versatile, spicing up every performance with a variety of different routines. You have three distinct showstoppers, each requiring a willing volunteer:
1. The Apple: A classic of the trade, suitable for children. Inside of 20', you can split an apple off the top of a volunteers head
2. The Big Trip: You stage a pratfall from 15' away with three knives in your hand. As you fall, you throw your hands out, flicking the knives without looking. They land surrounding the volunteer's head.
3. The No-Look: For Late Night shows only, while blindfolded, from 10' you throw 10 knives and outline the volunteer in steel. You can only do this once per show.
With any of these, you can use your skill as a Tap Dancer to enthrall the crowd.
Feature: By Popular Demand
You can always find a place to set up your sideshow, usually outside of an inn or tavern but possibly with a circus, at a theater, or even in a noble's court. At such a place, you receive free lodging and food of a modest or comfortable standard (depending on the quality of the establishment), as long as you perform each night. In addition, your performance makes you something of a local figure. When strangers recognize you in a town where you have performed, they typically take a liking to you.
