You spent years of your life either studying in school, university, and then an apprenticeship for a few years, or in a very long apprenticeship from the time you were very young, helping a physician to treat and care for the ill and injured.
You may have practiced in a large city, been the only physician for a small town and surrounding countryside, travelled from town to town – village to village, or been with the military. Either way you have extensive experience, a mind for learning, and a keen understanding of physiology and medicine.
- Skill Proficiencies: You are proficient with Healing and Investigation, or Nature
- Tool Proficiencies: Herbalism Kit
- Languages: One of your choice.
- Equipment: A signet ring with the seal from your alma mater, a doctor's bag containing various tools, a set of traveller's clothes, a set of fine clothes, an herbalism kit, a healer's kit, and a pouch containing 10gp.
You have built your practice for long enough that you have seen a great many variations of illnesses and injuries. Your experience diagnosing and treating a wide variety of conditions because of this you gain advantage on Medicine check to diagnose a patient and any Nature check to find plants and herbs which might be helpful in treating these illnesses and injuries.
In addition you gain a certain amount of deference from those around you, especially in more remote areas without medical care. Families of the ill or wounded, should they find out you are a physician, will seek you out for help. Likewise those you help or their families will tend to pour out gratitude for your assistance in proportion to the service provided.
