Something with deep meaning to you has been destroyed by the cruel aspects of a person or the world. You dedicate your life to avenge the loss that you hold deep in your heart, continue to learn street smarts and skills to become an overall good hunter and thinker so you can find the source of your problem and terminate it. Your life force and determination keep you headstrong in the fight and you will overcome the will to live more than others. Use your hate or lust for revenge to survive longer in certain times or even triumph over your foe. Your strong will for justice strikes fear in anyone who dares to spark it out of you.
Work with your Dm to find the source of what keeps you going, a sense of determination to keep your OC moving forward. Keep in mind that you are not bound to avenging something over hatred alone, it can be driven by love or determination to get the task done, or other goal-driven reasons.

You were once satisfied with what life had to offer you, however, this all ended when a tragic loss happened. This loss can set you up for your adventure or can have a major impact on your RP. Choose or randomly determine a tragic loss that marked you forever.

After journeying on to find the source of your loss you picked up some useful thinking habits and skills along the way. You are quick to track someone down after losing them somewhere, this makes you a good tracker and a great hunter. Along with tracking your survival on your own allows you to be fast-paced and a good survivalist, and a very intimidating person when you want to be. With these benefits, you are also a good stealth man, investigator, and spokesperson.

An avenger is usually self-centered and can sometimes let people in to help him achieve his goal. Most tend to have a loss deep enough to keep them at a rude attitude or a selfish desire to live, keeping power and justice close to their hearts in order to achieve the goal set.

Posted Jul 24, 2021So, I like this Background, but a couple things.
1- Maps is not a tool proficiency. You could make it Cartographer's Tools, otherwise reading maps is just kinda a thing that you can do.
2- In the equipment, you list a longsword. Rarely will a background give a weapon, and if it is, it is usually a simple weapon, mostly because quite a few classes can't use longswords.
3- You say a valuable item to you, but it would be better posted as "an item of personal value" or "a trinket from your past." A Valuable Item to you is way to vague, and someone could easily try to sneak a rare and expensive item into their inventory.
4- The feature is kinda nothing. You are basically just saying you have proficiency in Survival, Stealth, Investigation, and Persuasion. I'd recommend rewriting it to give something specific, like maybe you have learned how to find the information you need in cities, so you always know how to find the best place to find information, or maybe something along those lines.
