Your memory up to the accident is crystal clear, but each morning when you awaken, you remember nothing from the day prior.
You know your name and profession, and your entire history prior to a specific point in time. Discuss with your DM how long you have lived with this disability. It could have been a recent event, or several years. You, the player, knows this information, but your character must learn it each day anew.

You have a writ of pedigree signed by the local magistrate and the investigator which outlines your malady. This can potentially get you out of legal trouble.
You can get messages to your contact through reputable message services and local law enforcement agencies. He continues to work on your case in his spare time, and might have special insight for you.
