It seems that no matter how hard you try, you have a significantly easier time trying to connect with animals and beasts than you do with people. Your reasons for not readily trusting people may vary widely. Perhaps you just generally connect to animals that is missing with people, and it's just as simple as that. Perhaps you have a history of being hurt and betrayed by people. In any case, you have a kinship with animals that you otherwise lack with people.

You have a very soothing presence that is only perceptible to animals; perhaps even some animalistic creatures. Even your words alone have an almost magical affect on beasts. Animals may even recognize you as a potential ally. Most beasts will not immediately be hostile towards you. You may make an Animal Handling check to try and calm any beast. You cannot calm a beast that is in combat. A creature that is not hostile towards you may be befriended, or even tamed, with the appropriate Animal Handling checks. An animal can be befriended quickly, but an animal will take an inordinate amount of time to tame and even more to train. Additionally, you may add your Charisma modifier to all of your Animal Handling checks.
