You were born into a high up and well known crime family, most of your childhood has been spent in doors and you began using weapons at a young age. Criminals worldwide know the family name but will they help or hurt you?
- Skill Proficiencies: Deception and Intimidation or Persuasion and one “academic skill” Arcana, History or Religion
- Tool Proficiencies: Thieves’ tools and a forgery kit or disguise kit
- Languages: You can speak, read and write common and one language of your choice. You also know thieves cant.
- Equipment: A ring/necklace/brooch with family crest, a set of fine, dark clothes, a pouch containing 25 gp, one set of tools of your choice and one martial weapon of your choice
There are many kinds of criminals, and within a thieves’ guild or similar criminal organization, individual members have particular specialties. Even criminals who operate outside of such organizations have strong preferences for certain kinds of crimes over others. Choose the role you played in your criminal life, or roll on the table below.
You know where your other family members reside and a few other criminals that are reliable and trustworthy to the family that can complete a multitude of tasks for you. Most criminals would help you if you revealed your name or your family crest, but town guards and higher ups would likely be a hindrance.
