Feature: Researcher
When you attempt to learn or recall a piece of lore, if you do not know that information, you often know where and from whom you can obtain it. Usually, this information comes from a library, scriptorium, university, or a sage or other learned person or creature. Your DM might rule that the knowledge you seek is secreted away in an almost inaccessible place, or that it simply cannot be found. Unearthing the deepest secrets of the multiverse can require an adventure or even a whole campaign.
Suggested Characteristics
Sages are defined by their extensive studies, and their characteristics reflect this life of study. Devoted to scholarly pursuits, a sage values knowledge highly—sometimes in its own right, sometimes as a means toward other ideals.

Posted Jul 11, 2021No. All of the Backgrounds have a roll like this - for some specialization within their background. But there's no mechanics to them.

Posted Jul 16, 2021This combination makes a great warlock:
Now you have a warlock writing his findings who won't share that stuff with anyone because of Person. Trait 8, and treats everyone horribly because he thinks he's so much smarter than them (Person. Trait 6). Because he has Ideal 6, he wants to improve himself but because of Person. Trait 8 doesn't let anyone do the same with his help. If he has Flaw 1 then he'll be very distracted, and in the case of Flaw 5 he'll just insult anyone he comes across, including those who actually can help him.

Posted Sep 4, 2021I’m all about Bond 2 and Flaw 6- owning a text with powerful secrets and unable to keep secrets yourself.
I imagine hilarity when you tell everyone and nobody believes you, especially with Personality Trait 7.
Until you start a quest with that hook.
