Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Flowing waters are graceful above all things. They curl and twist through the battlefield like elegant mist, unleashing terrible attacks on all that would dare to attack them. Those who follow the Way of the Flowing Waters are fearsome to behold while fighting, but also strangely mesmerizing. Every movement emulates an effortless dance, and they seem to glide across the ground.
Flowing Current
3rd-Level Way of the Flowing Waters feature
Starting when you take this tradition at 3rd level, you learn to move gracefully, like a peaceful river. Your walking speed increases by 5 feet. Additionally, you now have access to the ki feature Graceful Advance.
Graceful Advance:
You can travel swiftly through the battlefield while simultaneously evading blows. If you spend one ki point, you can move up to your walking speed in any direction and use the dodge action as a bonus action.
Ebbing tide and Crashing Wave
3rd-Level Way of the Flowing Waters feature
Starting when you take this tradition at 3rd level, your graceful movements allow you to redirect attacks. When missed by a melee attack, you can spend 2 ki points to deal bludgeoning damage to any creature within 5 feet of you equal to 1d10+ your Dexterity modifier + your Monk level. In addition, unless the target is bigger than large, the target is forced to make a Dexterity saving throw equal to your ki saving throw. On a failure, the target is knocked prone. The size category of creatures you can knock prone increases to huge at 11th level.
Raging Torrent
6th-Level Way of the Flowing Waters feature
Starting at 6th level, you learn to harness the force - the unparalleled power - of the river that seethes in you. Whenever you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can spend 2 ki points to force them to make a strength saving throw equal to 8+ your Strength modifier + your Monk level. On a success, they take 1d4 force damage and are forced 5 feet in the opposite direction you hit them from. On a failure, they take damage equal to two of your martial arts die, and are forced backwards 25 feet.
Vicious Riptide
11th-Level Way of the Flowing Waters feature
Starting at 11th level, you have learned to harness the power of the undertow. Whenever you hit a prone creature, or knock a creature prone, you can spend 1 ki point to make four unarmed strikes against it as a bonus action. The number of unarmed strikes increases by one at levels 13, 15 and 17.
Twisting of the Waves
17th-Level Way of the Flowing Waters feature
By 17th level, you have become much more like the water you seek to echo. You can now use the Ebbing tide and Crashing wave feature even if the creature doesn't miss. In addition, you reduce the damage you take by 2d10 + your Dex modifier + your Monk level. Unless the creature larger than huge, it is automatically knocked prone. When you use the Raging Torrent feature, the creature automatically fails.
